Natsume Yuujin-chou San – 01

It’s been some years since the first and the second season of Natsume Yuujin-chou aired but even after all those years I still rank this series as one of the best I’ve ever seen. The setting, the soothing and mystical mood, the simple but very touching stories, Natsume Yuujin-chou almost always delivered and powerfully at that.

You cannot imagine my happiness when I read on the net that this series would be back for a third season. Therefore let me shout it out once: Goddamn hell, yeah! It’s finally back!

Mawaru Penguindrum – 01

This shows background visuals instantly reminded me of Trapeze. Some other parts seemed like a cheap copy of Shaft whereas both visual elements don’t really fit together. In terms of weirdness Mawaru Penguindrum comes pretty close to Trapeze but where the first one had a clear goal for each patient this show feels random and erratic.

Usagi Drop – 01

Out of all the shows this season Usagi Drops really stands out but in a very good way. It’s drama but subtle and realistic drama without all those overdramatic tones we see usually. It’s slice of life but it doesn’t focus on the usual suspects of four girls doing cute stuff. It’s also (not only) about thirty year old Daikichi. And most importantly it’s about bringing up a child with all its wonderful and problematic consequences.

Blood-C – 02

I still haven’t got a gundamn clue about anything. Where do the monsters come from? What are they precisely? Why must Saya fight them? Why is Saya the way she is? Who’s the main antagonist? What’s the overall goal? Why should I care about all of this?

No.6 – 01

Out of the first episodes I’ve watched until now this one is one of the more if not even most interesting. Bones did a good job here to set everything up and judging by my first impression No.6 seems to be a worthy addition to the noitaminA shows.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni – 01

Oh Baka Test, you never disappoint me, you awesome little gem of stupid.

Kami-sama no Memo-chou – 02

I’m on the verge of dropping this series. This episode combined the worst parts of the first episode with the worst cliché I’ve come to hate with a passion: doing not what everybody tells you to do. This episode almost completely destroyed my hopes that this series might become really good.

Nichijou – 15

This episode is so full of win. I can’t even decide which moment was the most awesome. Seriously, if Kyoani decide to deliver, they do it and in terms of comedy they blow out every other “comedy” series of this season out of the water. If nothing else, this episode is proof of it (and the last three episodes).

Ikoku Meiro no Croisèe – 02

It’s the small things that can make big differences, too.

Mayo Chiki – 01

Holy shit that was awful! Mayo Chiki has nothing to offer we’ve not seen a thousand times already – and much better by the way.
