Hanasaku Iroha – 15

This episode continued right from where the last one ended as we see the inn our main cast resides in is in deep shit. Lacking the four girls the inn is short in manpower and is not able to compensate for it. Of course, Ohana and the other girls help out.

Beach episode! Beach episode! Beach episode!

Okay, despite the horrible cliché setting this episode turned out to be a nice change of pace. Not only for the fact that we finally could see Ohana doing something with her class (and see her class at all), but also for the fact that this episode finally shed some light on Yuina, who has been kind of neglected lately.

Idolm@aster – 01

Well, what can I say…the sole modus operandi of Idolm@ster seems to be to show off as many cute stereotype girls doing as much stereotype stuff as possible.

Kamisama no Memo-Chou – 01

Okay, I watched Kamisama no Memo-chou two times now and I still don’t see any of the quality that would justify the high praise it gets in some blogs (here and here for example).

Ikoku Meiro no Croisée – 01

Out of all the new series I’ve seen so far, this one looks the most promising. It has this laid back slice of life setting I always love to see so this series has to deeply mess up things to make me stop watching it.

Its premise of a cute Japanese girl becoming a poster girl/ employee in a French sign shop in Paris is simple enough but has enough possibilities to tell heartwarming and even little dramatic stories of a constant culture clash. Funnily enough the first episode is a mixture of just those ingredients, setting the tone for the rest to come.

Nichijou – 14

Hands down, this is one of the best episodes if not even the best episode of Nichijou yet, containing the most epic moment since the principal German-suplexed a deer in school and Mio desperately chased after her note book.

Blood-C – 01

How could Production I.G. screw this one up so badly? What happenend here? Normally this studio is a guarantee for decent production quality and a plot that makes at least a little bit sense. But here?

Blood-C has nothing of substance to offer in its first episode. There’s nothing going on, there are no characters worth mentioning and there’s no plot you could actually call a plot. The production quality is horribly low and reminds me of xxxHolic that aired so many years ago. It’s as if time stood still. I really don’t want to know how much worse the animation will become when the first episode already has such a low level of quality.

Sacred Seven – 01

To say the latest original series of Sunrise was fast paced would be a huge understatement. There was so much going on with some information tidbits thrown around here and there that I had no real idea about what was really happening and why. Despite the chaos Sunrise managed to more or less create a series full of well known stereotypes and shounen series clichés.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! – 01

Wow. This is a new record. I watched the first episode for only two minutes and I already couldn’t stand it anymore.

Hanasaku Iroha – 13

After an enormous amount of big drama in the last two episodes, this episode of Hanasaku toned down everything a little bit which was a nice and necessary change of pace. But this doesn’t mean that nothing happened as the episode cast some light on the relationship between Satsuki and her mother, and their conflict that built up over the years.
